Subject: General Question

Hello -
I am writing to ask some questions about the items for sale on your website. First of all, I am a complete novice modler.  I haven't built a model since I was very young i.e. several years ago but I would like to give it  a try again and try my hand at some WWI aeroplanes.

I see that you sell some information on particular types of aircraft but I  wanted to know if this information is how to actually build the aircraft  that includes preparation to painting (particular colors and brands) to the actual build?  Or is this information just guidance on original planes as related to a model?

I also wanted to ask if I were to purchase the "How to do rigging" as a  beginner would this be way above my head or do you think I could rig a model with no previous experience? I have been reading and learning a ton on the web and realize that modeling has changed a lot over the many years that I have been away and if I am going to give it a go again I wanted to do it right.  Any information that you could share is appreciated.

Thank you, SJ

Hello SJ,
As the website states I provide How to build reviews for WWI type aircraft kits.  I go through the kit instructions and explain what is what and tell  you if the instructions got it right.  If they get it wrong I explain step  by step how to fix it.  I specialize in the is time era and also moderate a
small forum over on
http://www.aeroscale.co.uk

WWI is so esoteric its easy to get various parts and pieces mixed up or  installed in reverse.  I just help people avoid pitfalls.  If your just  returning to kit building you probably are facing "sticker or price shock."  Manufacturers simplify parts and pieces to make the production of a kit  simple.  In my reviews I try to provided build images, actual aircraft photo  details and  virtual imagery from some great artists.  I then try to give  you some sense of the layout  of their locations.

I also sell kits, and decals that I have in overstock from my own  collection.  If there is anything I can help you with in the future please  feel free to contact me. Welcome back to the hobby.

The how to do rigging is one of my largest sellers.  It offers descriptions of various rigging methods and  I describe what works for me.  I tried to keep it simple because that is the best method for someone to succeed at  this.  I have about 147 built kits.  100% of these use the methods I  describe.

Model On!
